AHAA Board Member: Mario M. Carrera

As Chief Revenue Officer, Mario leads all of Entravision's sales activities including the execution of revenue strategies and innovative client-centric integrated marketing solutions. Mr. Carrera was most recently Senior Vice President of Spanish-Language Television, overseeing and managing all of Entravision's Spanish language television properties. Carrera also previously led Entravision's Radio, Television and Interactive assets in Colorado as the Vice President and General Manager for 8 years.


His extensive experience involves the formulation of company strategies, plans and objectives. Mr. Carrera's achievements include top revenue generation with major communications companies including: Univision, Fox Television Group, Paxson, Harriscope, and prior to joining Entravision in 2003, LBI Media. Mr. Carrera's total sales and management background includes over thirty years in Senior Management responsibilities with radio and television stations in Fresno, Bakersfield, Dallas, Los Angeles and Denver/Colorado Springs/Aspen. Under his tenure in Colorado, Entravision's Noticias Univision Colorado won 14 Emmy's and KCEC-TV won the Best 2010 Public Service Award Campaign from the Colorado Broadcasters Association.

In both 2007 and 2009, he was recognized as General Manager of the Year and the Best Radio Manager for a Large Market by Radio Ink Magazine. In 2010, he received the highest honor given to a volunteer with the Silver Beaver Award from the Denver Area Council Boy Scouts of America. In 2011, the NFL and Denver Broncos Football Club recognized Mr. Carrera for Outstanding Hispanic Heritage Community Leadership. In 2012, Mr. Carrera received the American Jewish Committee (AJC), Colorado Lifetime Civic Achievement Award and in 2013, The Hispanic Contractors of Colorado honored him as Community Advocate of the Year. Most recently, the Mexican Government also presented Mr. Carrera with the Ohtli Award to acknowledge contributions made to help empower Mexican-American Communities origin in the United States. 


Mr. Carrera is a graduate of Harvard University, studied at El Colegio de Mexico and participated in professional development programs offered through the University of California Los Angeles and the Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Business. Mr. Carrera and his wife, Irma, live in Lone Tree, Colorado with their two sons.
